On the modern astrological chart, you can see the meanings of different things, and it is deeply explained how all the things in our environment influence our lifestyle.

What is Astrology?

First of all, let us talk about the modern-day meaning of astrology given by scientists.

Astrology is a theory of how the movements of different celestial objects impact the nature of a human being. In simple words, we can define astrology as the study of celestial objects such as the Sun, Moon, and Stars directly influencing the events occurring in a human’s life and the natural world.

These definitions are what today scientists refer to as the term astrology. Most people do not believe in astrology and say that it is all something made up.

While some people firmly believe that astrology is something very legitimate and very true. For example, the zodiac signs which most of the world’s population think are a significant part of astrology and are also a science of the Sun’s position when a person was given birth. According to that, the person is given their zodiac signs. That zodiac sign will be theirs for their whole life and will have an impact on their life.

These are two kinds of views people have on astrology and are very firmly standing on their opinion. What to believe and what not to believe is everyone’s right!

How Does Astrology Work?

Astrology is basically like a blind belief which everyone had faith on it has. The whole work of astrology is how different stars’ alignments, such as Sun, Moon, and planets, affect any person’s mood, personality, and work based on the particular day that day was born. It is a prediction of what someone’s doing in the future.

Different astrologers print horoscopes that are categorized according to the birth date of people in different newspapers. People read these horoscopes, and they believe that whatever is written in their horoscope will exactly happen in their life, no matter if it is a good thing or a bad thing.

Does Astrology Work Scientifically?

We can say that astrology may have some points that can prove that astrology works scientifically. Firstly, astrology talks about heavenly objects. It says that all the movements happening on celestial bodies, such as the Sun, moon, and stars, correlate with the events happening on earth and profoundly influence the world. These, in some sense, can be valid points, but most of the time, people have not found it very scientific.

Another point that astrology claims have proved with science is to judge or predict a person’s personality or events happening in their life in the natural world. For example, if a person is born at a solar eclipse, they would most likely become a significant person in the future that would help in the revolution and evolution of earth and help in the planet’s growth.

This is how astrology is working; someone with some knowledge concludes from these points that astrology might not work with scientific reasoning.

Let us now talk about if the predictions made by the astrologers have been correct or not. There have been some cases in which the astrological predictions were capable of some scientific testing. Some scientists carefully studied these predictions to see if the forecast was correct or not.

The results came in, and it was found out that those predictions did not happen. Even after this, astrology does not change or claim its mistakes and makes corrections to them. They firmly believe in what they have predicted, even if it does not happen.

These astrology examples cannot prove that it covers science completely in their predictions, there might be something that can prove it, but the measures here are not confirming it.

Effects of Astrology on Personality

Astrology does not have any impact on someone’s personality neither it affects them. Astrology says that the Sun and moon’s movements can impact someone’s life, which is not scientifically proven. The movement of Sun and mood do cause weather change on earth due to direct relations.

As Sun is the primary source of light and heat energy on earth, the movements of the world around the Sun affect the weather. If one side of the planet is too close to the Sun, people will observe an immense summer season on that particular dayside. If astrology affects someone’s life through this scientific reason, then astrology does affect a person’s life.

Talking about the moon causes an increase or decrease in ocean tides, not in someone’s life. You must be an angler or someone who works in the middle of the sea all the time if the movements of the moon are affecting your life.

If you are not someone who works in the ocean, then it isn’t easy to believe that the moon’s actions can affect your life in any manner.

Astrology mainly believes that the astronomical bodies roaming around in our solar system influence someone’s life or personality based on the birth date a person came into the world. Scientifically, all these things are not possible, but there are many things that science did not believe in the past and believes in now.

There might be a possibility that all the debate about if astrology is legit or not ends, and science starts to feel its basis. This will only be told by the upcoming time. Until then, astrology is not a legitimate thing, and one should not believe in that.

Number of Times Astrology Worked

Several times, a different group of astrologers made different predictions that were gradually falsified by experimentation or studies. Most of the time, these astrologers avoid making such predictions that can be testified and often make such statements that cannot be ideally studied or experimented with by the scientists.

There have been multiple attempts to prove many astrological predictions among the past centuries, and all the time, they have been denied by science through practical experimentations. All the time scientists tried to prove predictions of astrologers, the results were negative, and not even one experiment was successful.

Some of them are given below:

Carlson’s Experiment

The Carlson’s experiment was performed by some scientists on some much-specified predictions by some astrologers. The predictions were as expected, falsified by doing the practical investigation.

There were a total of 28 astrologers who predicted and performed the rituals of astrological predictions. The full forecast was about natal charts and the alignment of the celestial objects on a specified day. A whole study was created on this experiment to see and conclude all the points taken during the experiment.

The result of that study summed up that the predictions based on natal astrology were not proved, and there was only one better chance among millions that the prophecy would occur.

Dean and Kelly

A former astrologer and scientist, Geoffrey Dean, and psychologist Ivan Kelly performed this a large-scale experiment. They included more than 100 analytic, physical and behavioral but were unsuccessful in finding even one thing that could favor astrology.

They performed another scientific experiment in which they took 45 astrologers who had the experience of a minimum of 10 years and were highly trained and educated in the niche. All of these were extreme supporters of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire.

This questionnaire is to assess the personality traits of a person. These astrologers performed the experiment and were exceedingly terrible at what they were doing and failed miserably.

More experiments were conducted throughout the past centuries, and the astrologers could not prove their interpretations and predictions scientifically. To conclude, we can say that they believe in astrology, and its characteristics are only in mind. These are not scientifically or practically proven predictions of any sort.

When talking about astrology, one will always talk about the zodiac signs and their part in life or personality. First of all, one should know about zodiac signs. Zodiac signs are a crucial part of astrology, and it is defined as a region of the shape of a belt and can extend to approximately 8 degrees north or south. The paths on which the planets and their moons revolve also come in the belt of the zodiac.
