The Sun is the Major Arcana number 19. In the more traditional decks it is represented by a large Sun, which occupies the entire upper part of the card. In the lower part there are two children, apparently twins, in front of a low wall, with their feet resting on a stream. The representation of the large sun on the top of the card is maintained in almost all Tarot decks, especially the older ones. What changes are the subjects of the lower part. In the Rider Waite deck, for example, they are replaced by a child on horseback and in many modern thematic decks, often the protagonist of the card is some solar deity
This Arcanum represents the healthy Divine Masculine, with its qualities cleansed of the condition that the masculine has been carrying around for millennia. Depending on the type of spread and the question posed, it could indicate the need to integrate the healthy aspects of the masculine into one’s soul or to carry out a work of karmic cleaning of one’s concept of masculine, to open up to its true qualities.
Beyond this, the card has a strongly positive meaning: it represents success in every field, moving forward with one’s projects without finding obstacles to their realization, living honoring the relationship with nature and the world around us, illuminations sudden, both spiritual and material. This card also has the power to mitigate the negative effects of other cards that could come out on a spread, as their effects, in the presence of the Sun, will be transient.
The Arcana is positive and enlightening. It is good to take advantage of its energy, when it comes out in the open, to meditate and plan every aspect of life in the best possible way, so that it is cloaked in the energy of success. If it is found at the end of the stretches, it indicates a perfect ending, absolute success.
Compared to money, the card indicates success in business, unexpected winnings and extra income. The works associated with the Sun are those that have to do with the sun itself, or those in which you are the center of attention or in which you make yourself available to help others, such as: critic, commentator, show character, astronomer and coach. In general terms on the job it indicates that the consultant is in a fulfilling job or is about to have a promotion or career advancement. If the consultant is looking for a job then he will be successful in finding a job he loves.
Spread over love, the Sun indicates that the consultant is about to find a fulfilling love with a healthy male. If, on the other hand, the consultant is in a couple, the card indicates that the story is progressing well and the mutual feelings are sincere.
This arcanum is associated with the eyes, the heart and the solar plexus. Typically, the card indicates that the querent is in good health. Rarely it may indicate a hypersensitivity disorder in the eye.
