The Moon is Major Arcana number 18. Generally, much of the card is occupied by the image of the Moon, at the top. On the two sides of the card there are two Towers and at the bottom two dogs, of complementary colors (usually pink and blue) that look towards the moon.
At the feet of the dogs there is a pond, or the sea, with a lobster inside. In modern decks, it is common for this arcana to have as its protagonist some goddess or mythological lunar creature. To best interpret the Moon, just think of the fact that it is the symbol of the Divine Feminine par excellence. It represents all that is mysterious, magical and profound, such as the unconscious, dreams and visions. In addition to the feminine, it also refers to what is unclear and hidden, such as deceptions, slander of which you are not aware, secret enemies and forebodings.
The Arcanum of the Moon can be an important ally, given its peculiarity of placing the emphasis on what is hidden. Every time it appears in a spread it is enough to investigate the situation in question as best as possible, to discover what is hidden from the consultant and see clearly. In its most mystical meaning, however, it requires that there be greater connection with one’s unconscious and with one’s Divine Feminine. In this case it would be good to try new techniques, for example to remember dreams or to astral travel and divine more, so as to expand the connection with one’s depth.
Spread over the money, the Moon can show economic income due to illegal activities or financial losses due to hidden scams, which must warn the querent. The jobs associated with the Moon are those in contact with water, those at night and those that require a lot of sensitivity, such as: occultist, fortune teller, hypnotist, medium, fisherman, diver, sailor, writer, plumber, lifeguard, swimming instructor.
Compared to the Moon’s characteristic of indicating what is hidden, it could also represent a black job. In general spreads at work, the card invites us to pay attention to what we are promised, as there is a hidden trap or a scam in place.
With respect to love, it can indicate that an apparently perfect couple has actually totally lost the feeling in everyday life. Or, it could indicate a person whose true intentions are not what he shows.
The Moon, physically, is connected to the lymphatic system and in addition to indicating problems inherent to it, it can also be associated with addictions to drugs, alcohol or drugs or problems with the menstrual cycle. In general terms on health, the card is a wake-up call as it often shows the presence of some disease that does not yet give full-blown symptoms.
