The Tower is the Major Arcana number 16. Traditionally it is represented by a Tower that is destroyed when struck by lightning, from which two individuals fall, one of them is crowned, the other is not. The Destroyed Tower theme is present in almost all decks, ancient and modern. There are variations, for example in decks inspired by gods or mythological creatures, in which the Tower can be represented destroyed by any of these creatures or represented whole with them.
The Tower is a misunderstood arcane. There are two different currents of thought with respect to its interpretation. The more traditional interprets the card as a break, a collapse from every point of view, from which the strongest of spirit must rise renewed.
Thus in a reading it portends the arrival of a situation that goes beyond human control, which must be faced in order to ensure that the person comes out renewed.
According to Jodorowsky’s current, on the contrary, the card of the Tower is very positive and must be interpreted as an opening, as the emergence of a solution that until then had been ignored and as a sudden spiritual illumination, which coming from internal can also be brought back to the outside. The choice of how to interpret this Arcanum is up to you. A tip is to let yourself be guided by the other cards: depending on the combinations you can decide whether to adhere to one or the other interpretation. Anything that works for you is fine!
Spread over the money, La Torre can indicate debts, sudden loss of money, financial difficulties, unexpected expenses that cannot be avoided or the arrival of fines or tax bills. Depending on the combinations, it is possible to understand whether or not there is the potential to recover from the various losses and economic difficulties or not. The works related to the Tower are explosive ones, both literally and figuratively, such as: bomb disposal, revolutionary, demolition or soldier who goes to war.
In general spreads at work, it can indicate problems in the workplace such as burnout. Which requires that the person change occupation or work environment, without resistance. It can also indicate possible impending unemployment.
Spread over love, if you are in a couple, it can indicate frequent and even heavy quarrels, a divorce or a sudden love at first sight towards a lover who destroys the couple’s life. If you are single, it indicates a sudden fall in love and the following cards will help you understand if the person risks amorous suffering in order not to be reciprocated by this love or if there is the potential to consolidate it.
With respect to health, Arcanum 16 is associated with trauma and can portend physical problems such as: headaches, premature ejaculation, impotence, infertility or accidents.
In more general terms on health it should be read in combination with other cards, as it can indicate either worsening of the current health condition or ongoing illnesses or it can indicate a sudden recovery from some disease.
