The arcana number VI has been subject to many names and many interpretations. Those who use the Tarot of Marseilles will know that it is called the Lover, those who use other decks, especially if more modern, can find themselves as the name Lover or Lovers.
Traditionally, in the representation of the Arcana, we find a male person in the center between two figures (one male and one female), dominated by an angel holding an arrow in his hand. Because of this type of representation, this card is often misunderstood, because it could recall a romantic love or a marriage, but in reality it represents the Man faced with a choice between love and logic. The Lover on the obverse, as we specified above, does not simply indicate a romantic love or a union, unless the consultant has asked for love in a specific sense.
Generally speaking, it indicates that a conscious choice must be made. The consultant must begin to really ask himself if he likes what he is doing, the life he is living and if he actually likes what he likes or if he believes that he likes something but analyzing himself better this is not the case. The proof that this Arcana implicitly brings is overcome when the Consultant chooses his path following his true self. When the Lover comes out, it is good to stop and reflect on your life, which is nothing more than the fruit of your choices. It is never too late to question yourself about who you are, your life and your work.
Are you following your life purpose and therefore have passed your evolutionary test, doing what you are passionate about? If you still haven’t succeeded, for fear of not making it, for fear of judgment and of putting yourself on the line, know that you are being forced into your mind! It’s time to take risks, actually dedicating yourself to your passion, if you give up you will be able to make it happen.
In the spreads on money it indicates inability to manage it, as the consultant has a tendency to spend or donate excessively, without stopping to reflect. When asking questions about work it can indicate new profitable collaborations. The jobs associated with this Arcanum are those in contact with the public, in which you have to choose as: the Buyer, the cultural mediator, the clerk, the interpreter, the tour guide, the barman, the waiter, the receptionist, the babysitter or entertainer.
In spread on love it can represent a reciprocated love, even if it will then be the other cards of the spread that will make it clear whether it will be a long or temporary love. In the spreads at work it can indicate new profitable collaborations. The jobs associated with this Arcanum are those in contact with the public, in which you have to choose as: the Buyer, the cultural mediator, the clerk, the interpreter, the tour guide, the barman, the waiter, the receptionist, the babysitter or entertainer.
Death is associated with bones, so it could indicate all the health problems associated with them. In more general terms it can indicate a long illness that will make the consultant suffer or, as the name implies, death itself. To avoid frightening the potential consultant, it should be read as a whole, paying attention to all the cards, as it could also indicate the end of a long illness with recovery. The Lover is associated with the chest and heart area. It could indicate a person with anxiety disorders or lack of willpower.
